Mixing

We balance your multitracks in Nomadisedexa's Vienna control room — structured feedback, 2 revision rounds included, and delivery formats ready for streaming and download.

Engineer mixing at hybrid analog-digital desk

A mix decides whether instruments breathe, vocals stay intelligible and your song translates on different speakers. Mixing at Nomadisedexa is for artists and producers turning raw material from our band sessions or vocal sessions — or external recordings — into finished stereo or stem bounces.

You need clearly named tracks and a short brief on references and target platforms. File prep is covered in stems for mixing; booking and uploads via contact. Work starts after we validate files; enquiry replies within 1 business day.

Process

  1. File check

You send WAV/AIFF stems, sample rate and song length. We check clipping, start silence and consistent naming.

  2. First mix

Balance, EQ, dynamics and space aligned with your references — without reckless loudness chasing.

  3. Feedback

You listen on your systems and collect concrete notes. Up to 2 revision rounds are included.

  4. Final

Export as WAV/FLAC, optional MP3 preview. Download delivery; archive 12 months. Mastering optional separately.

Projects that fit mixing

Singles and EPs after studio tracking, home-recorded parts with usable quality, podcast beds or score stems — whenever you want a neutral second pair of ears. We do not mix completely unprepared sessions with dozens of messy tracks without agreed editing time.

We work across genres with a practical goal: clarity and musicality, not a fad preset. Nomadisedexa has operated in Vienna Neubau since 2019 across 3 rooms — mixing happens in the 22 m² control room.

Formats and delivery in

Prefer 24-bit WAV, sample-aligned, no master bus processing on stems. State sample rate (up to 96 kHz) and whether you need 44.1 or 48 kHz. ZIP or secure download — DAW projects not required unless agreed.

Checklist:

  • Individual tracks or grouped stems (drums, bass, guitars, keys, vocals)
  • No muted mystery tracks
  • Notes on desired vocal prominence
  • Reference tracks as links, not copy targets

Process at the desk

After import we listen on mains and headphones, spot problem frequencies and set panorama and depth. Vocals stay intelligible; drums punch without hiding bass. Dynamics serve the song, not a meter war.

You receive a first mix to review — ideally not only on phone speakers but on something neutral. Please batch feedback (e.g. “vocal 1 dB lower in chorus”, “less guitar reverb”) so the 2 rounds stay efficient.

Revision rounds and limits

2 included rounds mean two feedback cycles after the first mix. Each cycle should be one consolidated list; endless one-line tweaks do not count as a new round. Major arrangement changes (new parts, new structure) are a new job, not a revision.

Mid-project style pivots (“suddenly lo-fi instead of pop”) we discuss openly — possibly a new timeline. Details in terms.

Delivery and loudness

Final mix as 24-bit WAV; FLAC or high-bitrate MP3 preview on request. Streaming loudness follows common platform normalization without crushing dynamics — final level often comes in mastering.

Stem bounces of the mixed song (e.g. instrumental without vocal) can be agreed. Our DAW project files are not standard delivery.

Timeline and archive

Typical first mix within a few business days after complete material — depending on load and length. Rush only by agreement. We archive mix projects 12 months, then delete. Keep final files locally.

Not included

Not in the mix fee: heavy timing/pitch editing, producing new parts, mastering, artwork/video, rights clearance. Noisy or misnamed stems consume repair time — hence the file check.

For sessions recorded here (vocals, band), we align export and mix responsibility upfront to avoid duplicate work.

References and collaboration

References help when they describe tone and balance, not when you want to clone someone else’s record. Name two or three tracks and what you like — e.g. “weightier bass”, “airy hi-hats”, “close vocal intimacy”. We map that to EQ and dynamics choices while keeping your performance character.

If label or management weighs in, please consolidate notes into one list per round so the 2 included cycles stay fair for everyone. When you still need polish for vinyl or streaming after the mix, we point clearly to mastering and can deliver unchanged pre-master WAVs.

  • Vocal and drum focus per brief

FAQ

Do I need to come to the studio?

No — remote email feedback often suffices. To listen in person, book time in the control room — Mon–Fri 10–19, Sat 10–16, by appointment.

Can I send Logic/Pro Tools projects?

Exported stems are preferred. DAW projects only by agreement when versions match.

What counts as one revision round?

One collected list of changes after a mix version. We implement it and send the next version — up to 2 times included.

Is mastering included?

No. Mastering is separate; the mix stays headroom-friendly for mastering.

EP package — how many songs?

The EP rate covers up to five tracks in a similar sonic context. More tracks or mixed genres are quoted per track or hourly.
