Band recording
Play together in our Vienna live room with an engineer at the desk, individual headphone mixes and easy talkback through the control-room window.

Groove and interaction are hard to fake from overdubs alone. In Nomadisedexa's roughly 38 m² live room we record up to 5 musicians at once while levels, headphones and takes are managed in the 22 m² control room. Amp signals can be split; drums and vocals can be isolated or captured with room air as you prefer.
Rock, indie, jazz or tight funk sessions all depend on arrangement and dynamics before the clock starts. Read rehearse before the studio and book via contact — we usually reply within 1 business day. Address: Lerchenfelder Straße 45, 1070 Wien.
Process
Planning
Setlist, lineup and approach (live vs overdubs). We draft a mic plan and time for setup and takes.
Load-in
Place backline, DIs, amps and headphone sends. Line check and personal mixes for each player.
Recording
Shared takes with focused retakes. Engineer flags usable passes and keeps talkback clear.
Export
Multitrack or stems as agreed, backup 12 months. Optional mixing or vocal overdubs later.
Lineup and room
The live room fits up to 5 musicians at once — commonly drums, bass, two guitars and keys or live vocals. Larger setups need a prior call; not every instrument must be in the room if overdubs are planned.
Size and treatment aim for controlled but not lifeless sound: enough air for drums, enough absorption so amps and cymbals do not swamp each other. Sight to control makes silent cues between takes easier.
Mics and monitoring
We draw from 24 channels — dynamics and condensers for drums, amps and acoustic sources. Bass and keys via DI are standard. Headphone mixes are separate per player; balance can shift without stopping the others.
Click and backing tracks can be fed when you play to grid or pre-production. Up to 96 kHz; tell us your project rate early so export and later mixing match.
Live vs overdub strategy
Some bands capture full performances; others track rhythm live and add solos or vocals in the vocal booth later. Both work — decide before the day which parts must stay live.
Multiple songs in one day is realistic when parts are tight and breaks are planned. The day rate covers eight hours including setup; extra time bills hourly per terms.
Prepare the band
Rehearsal time saves studio money: fixed tempos, clear transitions, agreed dynamics. Our rehearsal guide covers setlists, tuning and gear.
- Bring tuners and fresh strings/heads where needed
- Spare sticks, cables, power for pedalboards
- Reference recordings as groove hints only
- Clear song names in the session map

Delivery and next steps
Default is multitrack export per song — tracks named by instrument and take. Stems (e.g. drum bus, bass DI, guitar L/R) are available for external mixing; see stems for mixing.
Editing (timing, tuning) is not automatic. Mixing at Nomadisedexa includes 2 revision rounds as described; raw sessions stay 12 months.

Rates include 20% VAT; net invoices for companies on request.

What we do not cover
Not included: full backline hire beyond basic DI, moving your amps, extensive producing, video, guest musicians without prior agreement. Faulty or unprepared gear still uses session time — hence the rehearsal emphasis.

People and gear on session day
At the desk you will usually meet recording engineers such as Elena Krammer (recording & mix) or studio lead Markus Höller, depending on calendar and project size. Thomas Weiß handles scheduling so load-in windows and breaks stay realistic on the day sheet.
The building has 3 treated rooms; band days focus on live room and control. If you want to move straight into mixing after tracking, we plan export structure during recording so no track is missing and stems stay consistently named.
Included
- Engineer and control room for booked time
- Mic plan for your lineup
- Separate headphone mixes
- Talkback and take notes
- Multitrack export
- Backup for 12 months

FAQ
Can we bring our own amps?
Yes, that is normal. Share dimensions and power needs beforehand so we plan space and routing.
How many songs fit in one day?
With tight parts, often two to four songs in a day block — depending on complexity and overdubs. Fewer finished tracks beat many rough ones.
Can we sing in the live room?
Yes, with suitable stage mics. Very dry pop vocals often benefit from extra booth overdubs.
What if a member cancels?
Cancel and reschedule per terms. Deposit may transfer to a new date under the conditions stated there.
Do you provide backline?
Basic DI and occasional snare/sticks if available — not a full backline. Confirm via contact when booking.
