Podcast & dialogue

Interview, round-table or panel: you speak into proper microphones while we handle levels, room tone and an edit that survives earbuds, car speakers and platform compression.

Two podcast hosts with microphones at table

Podcasts succeed when speech stays clear and the background stays quiet. At our Vienna studio we set a table for two to four speakers with individual mics and headphone mixes. Recording can be edited live to length or saved as multitrack for later — depending on how unpredictable your conversation is.

Podcast & dialogue suits editorial teams, associations, companies recording internal updates and independent hosts who want to record in or near Vienna. After the session you receive a finished episode file or raw material plus editing to brief. Sessions run Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 10:00–16:00, closed Sunday. Sessions by appointment only.; getting here: U3 Volkstheater or Neubaugasse, then about 5 minutes on foot along Lerchenfelder Straße. Tram lines 5 and 49 stop nearby..

Process

  1. Define the format

You outline duration, speaker count, intro/outro and loudness targets. We propose mic layout and time needed — usually a reply within 1 business day.

  2. Set up

Seating, pop filters, headphones, quick level check. For video co-hosts we capture audio in-room; picture stays on your side.

  3. Record

Run the conversation at a natural pace; pauses and retakes are normal. Engineering stays in the background; Thomas Weiß helps with timing when needed.

  4. Edit & export

Trim noise, breaths and doubles; add music if you supply rights-cleared files. Delivery as MP3/WAV to your feed spec.

Layout for two to four voices

The podcast table sits in the treated studio space — the vocal booth (8 m²) is for single voices, the dialogue area for longer face-to-face talks. Everyone gets a directional mic, pop filter and a personal headphone mix so people do not talk over each other.

Remote guests can stay on your existing tool (Riverside, SquadCast, etc.) while we record a clean local track and advise on sync. We do not run remote-only productions without a studio visit; local speakers benefit from shared room acoustics.

Formats we often see

  • Interview show: host plus guest, 30–60 minutes
  • Panel or editorial round: up to four people, moderated debate
  • Internal comms: training, staff Q&A (NDA on request)
  • Dialogue for video: solid audio track, edit aligned to picture later
  • Light audio drama: several roles, simple scenes without a film set

Single-voice narration or voice-over often fits vocals & voice-over in the booth better than the table.

Before you arrive

Send an outline or question list, target length and speaker names. Sort intro/outro music: royalty-free files you bring, or none — we do not license music for you. For brand shows, note pronunciation of product names.

Arrive about ten minutes early (Lerchenfelder Straße 45, 1070 Wien). Still drinks reduce plosives. If you are ill, reschedule — sick voices rarely improve in edit. Free cancellation up to 7 days ahead; see terms and conditions.

Editing: what is included by default

The episode package (up to 60 minutes of raw talk) includes a basic edit: shorten long pauses, remove obvious flubs, balance levels, light de-plosive and chair-noise cleanup. Heavy restructuring, major content cuts or multitrack mixes with many effects are scoped separately or billed hourly.

You usually get a finished mono or stereo file for the feed plus optional unsplit multitrack for your archive. Revision rounds follow 2 — bundled feedback by email, not drip comments over weeks.

Export targets

Most hosts want MP3, 44.1 kHz, 128–192 kbps, mono for speech-only or stereo when music matters. We export to your spec and can aim around -16 LUFS (common podcast target) without confusing audiobook norms.

Guests, rights and data

Everyone speaking should know they are recorded and how audio will be used. Under 16 needs guardian consent. We keep recordings 12 months for project purposes, then delete on schedule — store your published master yourself.

As the client you are responsible for content (trademarks, defamation, ad disclosure). Nomadisedexa GmbH acts as service provider; full rules are in terms and disclaimer.

Rates and studio time

Episode flat rate up to 60 minutes record/edit: €165 incl. 20% VAT. Extra studio: €90 per hour — useful for long panels or several episodes in one day. Net for businesses: €137.50 and €75.

Season bundles get a written estimate. First on-site booking may need a 30% deposit. Book via contact, [email protected] or +43 1 526 48 92. More answers in FAQ and guides.

Outside the package

Feed hosting, website, cover art, transcription, translation, jingle composition, off-site location recording, video edit and ad sales are not in the episode fee. Saving bad Zoom audio is often costlier than re-recording — we will say so.

Mastering embedded songs may move to mastering as a separate job.

FAQ

How many people fit at once?

We plan two to four speakers at the podcast table. Larger groups need a prior call — we may move to the live room with a different layout.

Can I record raw and edit myself?

Yes — we bill mainly €90 and deliver multitrack WAV without editing if you say so when booking.

Do you supply intro music?

No. You provide licensed files or we leave music out. We mix only what you may use legally.

What if we cancel or fall ill?

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the slot. After that, terms apply; for sudden illness we look for a new date.

Episode flat rate vs hourly?

€165 covers a typical 45–60 minutes including basic edit. €90 suits shorter slots, multi-episode days or when you do not want our edit.
